Learning Outcomes
The Skills Bootcamp in Applied Project Controls offers the opportunity to complete the ECITB Planning & Scheduling and the ECITB Introduction to Estimating courses, as well as gain an understanding of commercial awareness.
ECITB Planning & Scheduling
  • Understand the importance of planning and scheduling - describe the importance of good planning and the main terms used in planning and scheduling.
  • Understand the processes required to produce schedules
  • Prepare schedules for the control of work scope delivery
  • Produce planning information (including schedules) in the right format to meet stakeholder needs and to gain buy-in
  • Understand other processes relating to scheduling

ECITB Introduction to Estimating
  • Understand the concepts of estimating within a project environment
  • Understanding the fundamentals of project scope and requirements
  • Understand different estimating techniques
  • Understand estimating requirements within different life cycles
  • Understand why re-estimating takes place
  • Understand the implications and reasons for poor estimating
  • Understand the component parts of an estimate
  • Consider contingency within estimating
  • Consider information which forms the basis of estimates

ECITB Commercial Awareness
  • Understand the key aspects of commercial awareness
  • Understand the importance of risk management and the main terms used

The project controls bootcamp is a fusion of academic and practical
delivery methods.

The course begins with a induction session to provide course information and objectives. A competency assessment will take place following the induction and will be repeated at the end of the Bootcamp.

The academic learning takes place via virtual sessions, which is followed by two days in a face-to-face classroom environment.
