The objective of this vocational competence qualification is to provide recognition that a candidate has demonstrated the required level of technical competence to work, or lead in, project controls or a specific discipline within it.

This qualification consists of 10 mandatory units and 1 mandatory unit according to candidates selected pathway.

In order to achieve this qualification, a candidate must be working in a role within their selected qualification pathway and be able to generate the work-based evidence at the required level.
A candidate’s individual circumstances will determine if this qualification is appropriate, and the Approved Centre will work with the prospective candidate and where appropriate the employer to determine suitability for the qualification.

Assessment for this qualification includes a portfolio of work-based evidence, technical discussions with and presentation to one of our ECITB Approved Assessors. You will be required to compile a portfolio of work-based evidence that demonstrates all the assessment criteria for each unit. Also you will be required to prepare and deliver a presentation to the assessor for Unit APC01 - Developing own professional competence.

You must successfully meet the requirements of all 11 units in order to attain this qualification. The Total Qualification Time (TQT) is 971 hours, including 761 hours of guided learning. The amount of time taken to achieve this Level 6 Diploma is typically 36 months.
