20|20 Business Insight have delivered Project Management training for the Balfour Beatty graduate programme since 2014.
Jack Carlile (Graduate Quantity Surveyor with Balfour Beatty) kindly shares his experience of his training received with us. Congratulations to Jack, who passed his APM Project Management Qualification as part of his programme last year. What was the best thing about the project management training provided by 20|20 as part of the graduate programme?
20|20 did a great job of making a very dry and theoretical topic interesting. In general, it’s not the easiest subject to study if you have no previous project management experience, but I now feel more knowledgeable and confident having gained my APM Project Management Qualification. What three benefits has the project management training delivered by 20|20 given you?
1. Gaining a professionally recognised accredited qualification shows my competency and knowledge among my peers, current and potential future employers.
2. I have gained increased confidence to undertake further training and continue my personal professional development.
3. Although not in a current project management role, I would now consider a project manager role as part of my career. I feel I have the theoretical knowledge to apply in a given practical situation now. What would you say to anyone considering the graduate process you have been through (in relation to the project management training?)
The amount of study can seem very daunting at the start of the course, but I would recommend you keep focused, stick with it and make sure you revise. 20|20’s exam preparation workshop was absolutely invaluable before taking the exam. The facilitator was extremely helpful, patient and attentive. Was the training relative to the work you currently do within your organisation?
The delegates roles undertaking the training were very varied and diverse so case studies and examples used within the training applied to some but not to all. However, examples used did make sense and were applicable to the relevant subject being studied.Describe the project management training you have received from 20|20 in three words:
