About

Combine theoretical knowledge with practical application in project controls through our Project Controls Technician Apprenticeship, delivered in collaboration with Learning and Skills Partnership (LSP). Sharpen analytical skills and proficiency in technical data interpretation and earn an ECITB Certificate and a Level 3 Diploma in Project Controls Practice and Techniques. 

Gain the skills to: 

  • Differentiate between the techniques for estimate development
  • Identify differences between planning and scheduling
  • Understand project life-cycles, breakdown structures, and the relationship between associated factors
  • Evaluate the impacts of design & construction changes
  • Interpret the technical requirements to produce a workable control schedule

Who is it for?

  • Ideal for new or current project control professionals, including roles in planning, estimating, and cost control. 
  • With additional training the Project Controls Technician could also progress to more specialist roles in areas such as project controls, planning, scheduling, estimating, cost control, risk and quality and ultimately a role as project controls manager. 

Entry requirements:
For this apprenticeship, it is preferable to have achieved at least a Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.

Exam
This apprenticeship involves both formally assessed work-based assignments and end-of-unit tests conducted under exam conditions. Upon completing all mandatory components, you will undergo an end-point assessment, which includes a theoretical online test, a written practical test, and a structured interview.
