The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is a knowledge based qualification that allows candidates to demonstrate knowledge of all elements of project management. Candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how these elements interact and how their project fits into their strategic and commercial environment. The PMQis a qualification recognised both nationally and internationally giving candidates a qualification that can be carried from one job to another or from one industry to another.
The PMQ is aimed at those wishing to achieve a broad level of project management knowledge sufficient to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects. Applicants typically have some pre-existing project management knowledge, although this is not essential.
The PMQ is the flagship qualification of the Association for Project Management. It is proven that organisations can achieve competitive advantage and improved project delivery through a highly skilled and qualified project management community.
Project Managers who have gained the PMQ have an increased confidence in their project management ability. Being more sure of best-practice processes and protocols means much more efficient running of your projects. Increased confidence and progression can often bring greater pride and clarity in the running of projects. It is often identified that the key part of a Project Manager’s role is communication. Being more confident in ability directly leads to better and more effective communication.
