Terry is an ECITB registered Assessor and Internal Quality Verifier for qualifications in Project Controls, Design & Draughting and Mechanical Completion and carries out assessments and IQA’s to a number of learners in a range of industries, working closely with the training centers / colleges to provide appropriate feedback to allow timely completion.
Terry also sits on the ECITB Qualifications and Awards Committee and has been involved in updates to the ECITB Project Controls and Design & Draughting RQF’s.
Background / Experience
Terry has forty-five years’ experience within the Petro-Chemical industry and have supervised the design, engineering and production of instrumentation, electrical and mechanical systems, the last 9 years being in the position of Chief Designer. The role has involved project set up from study phase to final installation for both offshore and onshore installations, managing budgets, staffing levels, cost estimates, progress control, design and production schedules which has meant working very closely with the client, project managers and discipline heads.
The role also meant carrying out overseas visits for various projects to France, Jakarta, Perth-Western Australia and South Korea including a 6 months work assignment in Norway.
For the past 20 years Terry has also been involved in setting up and running training programs for Apprentices and other trainees and been working closely with them to complete their training from first joining the company through to completion of their apprenticeship.
Terry is also a member of the Department for Education “T” Level Panel for Construction (Design, Surveying & Planning).
In his spare time Terry is an Officer in the Sea Cadet Corps currently carrying out the admin duties for Southwest District, London.
