Job Title: Learning & Development Manager

Location: Flexible – UK

Objectives:

1. At the direction of the current Director of Learning & Development and Board of Directors, managing, supporting and organising Staff & Sub-Contract Facilitator resources in accordance with 20|20 and client requirements with the aim of creating maximum value for the company’s stakeholders
2. Developing and cascading the organisation’s strategy/mission statement to all Learning & Development staff, and implementing developmental practices to align personnel with company goals
3. Establishing pre-eminence for 20|20 in the areas of project and programme management through effective leadership of the Learning & Development team
4. Driving the development of the company’s Learning & Development products and services
5. Planning by prioritising customer, employee and organisational requirements
6. Monitoring and maintaining and the L&D team’s knowledge, skills, competencies and motivation to ensure 20|20’s organisational requirements are met
7. Driving performance measures for the training operation (including a consideration of efficiency versus effectiveness), for review of high level key indicators as part of the Executive Committee (Ex-Com) Management Team
8. Take strategic and Profit & Loss responsibility for Learning & Development

Principle Activities:

The role will involve 50% management time and 50% fee-earning time

1. Plan, develop and implement strategy for Learning & Development management and development to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales
2. Monitor, measure and report on training issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
3. Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with the Ex-Com team
4. Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
5. Monitor L&D team’s performance and ensure it meets with the required standards and take relevant actions where required
6. Liaise and co-operate with professional bodies (e.g., ISO, ECITB, APM, PMI, APM Group, etc.)
7. Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by delivery issues)
8. Develop materials to meet with client, company and awarding bodies’ requirements ensuring 20|20’s Design, Development & Delivery Methodology is adhered to
9. Maintain currency in delivery of all 20|20 programmes to agreed standards and take responsibility for lead delivery as required and supporting other facilitators where necessary
10. Optimise resource allocation to manage costs
